Post by BayGator »

Any of you skinny water skiff guys got a certain brand you would recommend? I have been looking at the tower mate. Thanks for any help.

BG, I have one of these. It's kinda nice when the holder swivels, especially in the wind.

How did you attach that to your tower?

There are 2 ways to attach it. There are the 2 holes horizontally through the base. I used these to attach it to the tubing on the Gatortrax. There is also a threaded hole Vertically up through the bottom. I used that to attach it to the glass platform on the scout.

If you are looking for a way to hold it "hands free" I've seen a product for that.

When do you want it held? If during fishing the belt loop tower mate is what you need....by the time you bend down to put in the tower mate the fish is gone...the Tibor goes thunk and the fish go away....I want a tibor for getting on and off the platform...right now I am doing the circus act going up and down the platform. When fishing I stick it under my arm or between my legs...which has been part of my dismal catch ratio for the winter - you only do so much with a 22ft long pole up your ass

Just something to hold the pole if I need to cast or move off the platform form something. I am going with the stiffy fixed mount like TC has. I hate to have to drill holes in the platform but it is what it is. Chalk your fish are too spooky over there, I think the reds in SJB are blind and deaf some days because I have just straight up dropped the pole on the platform before trying to cast and hold the damn pole, but still managed to hook up

I heard some mole skin or carpet in that clip will help reduce the thunk.
