Ran around town this morning and got done around mid morning - hooked up the boat and me and lil chalk head off for our next adventure.
Put in and the city side was dirty water - ran to the woods and the water turned to red/tannin water - but it was clear. We caught two redfish in short order and I thought it was going to be a stellar day. Poled around a point and the fish around the corner were laid up and not interested in eating. Moved on down the bank and finally found some fish on the hunt. Missed one nice fish and then me and Lil Chalk wrestled this lil piglett to the boat.
Fished a few more spots, but the rising water brought the dirty water into the bank and skunked up the place.
Saw about 20 dead mullet - was the most dead fish I have seen...was surprised being I was in a deep water area.
Great few hours with my son. Caught 4 - missed a few more - fish were chewing on spoons and KyTrkyHntr's super secret winter time lure.
Due to the economic times that fish went to the house - upon inspection it had a rather large backbone in its stomach - assume that some of the mullet that couldn't make it were eaten.
Forgot to mention that Dan at Half Hitch hooked Lil Chalk up with a new rod and spooled up the reel that Santa brought him with some power pro....Lil Chalk was slinging it pretty good yesterday.

See ya' on tournament day.
Ha - Don't think running 200 miles to the west of St. Marks qualifies as propaganda - we will probably catch the winning fish with you in sight like in the past

He did, indeed, fish our holes yesterday. He owes us rent.

.82 delta in Jan 23 & .12 delta on Feb 6 is different .7 ft differences (less water movement) - that means the few fish you caught will be even less on tournament day
