My buddy has a CS and it hasn't busted yet. Cheapest I have seen a CS is at Wilson's in Perry. He sells them for 119 a piece.

Those rods are pure junk! I tried a couple when we are jigging for biat and busted one first trip out. They got a lifetme wrranty but the company is about to go bankrupt. I like Falcon rods for light tackle. Carot sticks are good for nothing if you really use it.

I regret my kind words about the Carrot Stix. I traded it today for a Falcon Cara.Natureboy wrote:Those rods are pure junk! I will next time old buddy!! I have learned that many of the lures and tackle are designed to catch fisherman....not fish.Reel Cowboy wrote:I could have saved youi a lot of trouble Dave but you wouldn't listen.Flint River Pirate wrote: I regret my kind words about the Carrot Stix. It is a great rod. Just be careful with a very fast tip or you will jerk an oyster off the bottom and crack your skull. I like a G Loomis 7 foot but id say they are about the same

Well from what I heard from an industry insider, they are doing just fine and have a boat load of "new style" rods on the way.
I'd stick to Falcon (sponsor) for store bought & a Matthew's Fishin' Styx (sponsor) for custom or specialty rods.

I can vouch that, if you can articulate what you want out of a fishing rod, Matthew Jacobs, the fine craftsman at Matthew's Fishin' Stix, can custom build it for you. I can't wait to brag on the awesome
light-weight long-caster he built for me.
I'm only just waiting to catch a fish big enough to warrant the brag.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.

IF anyone is needing a rod built then I stongly recommend Mathews Fishing Stix. He built a spinning rod for my girlfriend and it is top of the line! I was out fishing shortly after X-mas with my brother-in-law for Tarpon and once we got on them I made the call to Nina and told her to bring her arse along with the rod down to the coast. On her second cast she hooked up and landed a 30lb tarpon. First fish on the rod! She absolutely loves it.
Thanks again Matt! The rod is awesome!!!!
