Electric fillet knife

Time to by a new electric knife, anybody have a favorite or one they would not recommend.

I used to use the "mister twister" one but after about two hunert sea bass it burned up. I bought a regular one like you would use on a turkey at yard sale. This sucker is older than me. It has been cleaning fish for at least 6 years now. It's the one that is straight, not the big one with the handle. I can clean a trout in less than a minute with it.

I don't claim to be an expert, Spot on, but I have gone through a few knives. Some burnt out fast, some were uncomfortable to use, some got too hot too fast.

Here is what I learned:

Don't bother with cordless knives. Get one that you can plug into household outlet and adapt to 12-Volt lighter-socket or battery clamps. Get one that is specifically made for "saltwater" use. American Angler was the best of the rest I tried.

I agree on the (don't get cordless knife). I have had two and the batt does not last long enough to clean all my fish (ha, ha). I have an American Angler saltwater knife that is the plug-in model and through the 1st season I have not had any problems with it.
