SGI In march

Post by akasephiroth »

Looks like im back in action after lossing my grandmother in nov. Gonna take the family out to SGI for my B-day on march 15 and was wondering while we there what can I expect that time of the year? Will pompano or spanish be rolling in yet? or will sheepies still be hanging around? Gonna be there 3 days on the 16th gonna take out one of the rental boats from port st. Joe but outside that will be doing most my fishing from the shore what are your suggestions? Looking to get some ideas on what gear i need to take, dont wanna carry my 15' surf rods in my little 2 door car if its gonna be a waste to bring them.

Sorry about your Granny.
Mid-March would be best from the bridge with medium to light equipment.

You can rent a kayak on St. George and launch using the ramp at the Boy Scout camp. There are plenty of oyster bars to fish around the ramp area.
