New Baits

Post by FlatCrazy »

I spent the weekend getting my gear in shape and organizing my baits for the upcoming season and I was wondering if anyone had any new baits they were going to try this year. I picked up a couple of the new zara spook baits, one that sounds like it is filled with birdshot and one that has a single large rattle. I can't wait to fish the birdshot bait, I imagine it will really irritate those reds.

I was thinking of picking up a chatter bait. Never used one, but it looks like it might work if the water is dirty. Anyone ever fished one over grass? Is that possible or do you need a clean sandy/rock bottom to fish one?

Chatter Bait is a good red bait... it works just fine over grass. Crank and reel... just like a spoon.

I want to try the Yo-Zuri Edge Minnow and the Bomber Badonk-A-Donk

Try the new Down South Lures. They're a neat looking bait and should catch a lot of fish thus year.
South Georgia Outdoors and Kevin's can get them for you or you can order them from the maker himself.
Sout Georgia has plenty of new bomber baits in just about every color. Kevin's does as well.
