Lasso Net

Post by Reel Cowboy »

Let's all welcome Lasso Nets aboard as a new NFGFC sponsor. I got a few in the mail this weekend for raffle prizes at our upcoming tournaments and meetings and I think they'll be a big hit.
Let Mr. Rod, Amy, Mrs. Beth and all the fine folks at Lasso Net know how much we appreciate their support.

Welcome folks!!

Just checked the website, very cool product. At last a net that doesn't take up a lot of bulk space and doesn't tangle in hooks etc.

Thanks for supporting us, Lasso Nets! I got to check out a LassoNet :smt007 last weekend at Kevin's. Well-built. They only had one left.
Guess I'm gonna have to buy it if I don't win one at the raffle. :smt045

Buy that one and if you win one at the meeting then you can give it to me.

I would, RC, but I don't know what you would do with a left-handed net. :smt047

That is cool. Adding it to the wish list.

Cool! I want one.

The next step is to make it spring loaded; so you pick up a pole, press a button and ska-doosh ... instant landing net. Kind of like an automatic opening umbrella. :D

I swear, there's just no satisfying some people. :-D

Charles,
The inventor himself is supposed to come to the meeting next week. I'm sure he'd love to talk it over with you and we'd love to have you join us.

Think he'd want to hear my idea for a third generation net that is electronic and extends retracts hydraulically and slowly accompanied by flashing warning lights and a warning klaxon? :-D

How bout one that uses a blank cartridge with a trigger mechanism to project/fire a 4 ft cast net that would encapsulate the fish. This would eliminate a lot of those "Lost the moster next to the boat" issues. :jester_1

I heard (not recently) of a guy over in the Pensacola/Mobile area that had a twin-barreled compressed air powered "potato gun" cannon mounted on the bow of his boat. 1/3 of the net got loaded in one barrel, 1/3 of the net went in the other barrel, and 1/3 of the net lay on the deck. Reportedly this cast net was HUGE, but it would spread well using the cannon.

I know!! Get one of those self-tightening nets like the Predators had in Alien Vs. Predator. That would be da-bomb ... as long as you didn't have a negligent discharge in da-boat. :-D
