Capt. Mike 5'' swimming tails

Post by Rainman »

Got out on the St. Marks river on Sunday. Was able to catch a limit of trout, one being about 5lbs. Bait of choice was Capt. Mike's 5'' swimming tails that I got awhile back at Jerry's. I'm really liking these lures, anyone know where to get them locally. Jerry's had em in the discount bin but they don't seem to have any more... At least I got a spot to look for trout in the tournament a few weeks away.

Go see South Georgia Outdoors or Kevin's. If they don't have them, I feel certain they will be happy to get them for you.
Send Capt. Mike an e-mail letting him know you liked the product. You never know what might happen.

Rainman,
Capt. Mike sold his original business and is now marketing spoons and soft plastics under the Aqua Dream brand. Not sure if the latest version are the same as the ones you had success with on the trout, but you can order direct from him through his web site.

Mike is a great guide and his new spoons work better than the originals. He's on tap to speak to the NFGFC in October.

Just double-checked and he is a club sponsor also.

The Capt.Mikes swim tail lure is from the original Capt.Mikes company sold to Fish Harder Co.,not his current company.

Thanks everyone. I'll check out some of his new products, I like experimenting. I really just like the action that curly tail provides. Most salt water plastics seem to have that, what do you call it... a paddle tail? What might happen if I place a curly tail plastic on a redfish magic spinner..?

The only way to know for sure, is to cast and reel.

If you want the Capt. Mike spoons, I'm not sure I know of anywhere to get them.

With that said, his new spoons are top notch and at just about tackle shop in the area. Heath has quite a few of them on the rack and I'm sure Kevin's does as well.
