Aucilla-06 Mar 10

Post by Flanders »

Headed west out of Aucilla river. All morning cold air, cold water, no bites and sucked!!! After noon tide changed started coming in. Headed in close and finally started getting some hits. First 2 trout over 20". However the next 4 are also over 20". Broke my heart to have to keep throwing them back. :smt010 We finally landed a 19" trout. Last little drift I hooked up with a 25" red, and baby did he have some pull to him. Got him to the boat twice to have him make another run. Dad finally got him in the net pulled it over the side of the boat and pop, my line breaks.. Red falls in boat. Close call. Good ending to a crapy starting day.
During the duration of catching our fish, I realized that Mills (barhpr)'s anniversary was today. Therefore knowing that he was unable to make it to the waters, being the good friend I am thought it would be very kind of me to start snapping a few pictures and sending them to his phone. Therefore allowing him to enjoy my success with me. However his replies were less than appreciative. Oh well!!

We had to throw ours back today also, but it wasn’t because they were to long. Sounds like a good day.
