Found a Big Buck...

Post by bman »

I live off Lakeshore drive and was doing a little yard work this morning...
(Realtors work a lot of weekends and evenings so you have to get the other stuff done when you can)

Saw a Turkey in the woods behind my place and walked over to check it out.
Noticed a white glint and found a clean deer skeleton with this rack!

Nice 9 Point- there is a little rise where the 10th tine should be.

Still a little skin on the head so I'm figuring its from the last few months.
Must have got hit by a car and laid down to die behind my place.
Cool to know one that nice was living right near me.
Sad to think a car took it out.

The "Euro Mount" is going up on my wall at the house!

In the spirit of MudDucker's post this morning (see http://www.bigbendfishing.net/phpBB3/vi ... =5&t=24764), it's a bit late for that and pretty sure it wouldn't have worked anyway! :smt005

Well I was going to ask the same thing about the gun. Did you find any other bones? Maybe a neighbor had it sitting out to be cleaned and a dog grabed it and dragged it back there. Either way nice find.

You guys don't carry shotguns around your yard? Never know what your going to run into!

No Turkeys were harmed in the production of this post. :smt006

That's not bman's gun. This looks like a suicide scene to me.

Interesting.......I was driving on Lakeshore a few months back and heard a loud THUD!!!!! Didn't see anything, so I drove on home. I finally found some time to clean my own truck this week, and found this

I believe I saw that buck or one just like it around 1:00 am standing on the side of Lakeshore drive just a few days after Christmas. I believe it was near where Sharer road runs into Lakeshore. Can't be too many like that running through the neighborhood.
