This is a totally hypothetical question if its illegal. Suppose someone was easing down a road about thirty minutes after dark headed home. Suppose the car in front of them smacked a deer causing only a head wound. Suppose the guy headed home saw it and the other car just kept driving. Suppose the guy couldnt resist fresh deer meat albeit roadkill and eased over to the side of the road and loaded the 100 lb doe up, took her to his big neck buddys house, and dressed it. Just wondering if its illegal to pick up roadkill??? Just seemed like in a hypothetical world it would be a dang harsh waste of some fine backstrap , Again, if its illegal, this is all hypothetical!

BB yes it is but its not Illegal unless you get caught just make sure you don't have a gun in truck ..Also if u just by chance shoot on on county rd 14 go to the camp site put gun up and then go back later and get it ...I heard that what you do lol

My wifes cousin was riding along with her daughter when they hit a deer. She said pull over so I can get him but the daughter refused. Being a mile from the house when they got home the daughter got out and she drove back quickly, the folks next door had seen what was going on and grabbed the deer, enraged she was blowing the horn flashing the lights and cussing out the window. Pulled up in thier yard because she wanted her road kill!!!! They decided the only fair thing to do was to share so they dressed the deer and split the meat.
