Trilene Big Game 10 lb. is my favorite. I respool every two or three trips, and strip about the first 20/30 yards off after those trips when I don't respool. That's probably more than most, but I spend considerable time bouncing my line around the East River oyster bars and get it knicked up pretty good.

I used to use Ande tournament & change the line fairly often. Not any more. I caught a 25# bonnet head shark on 6# P-line & I was trying to horse it in or break the line. It basically wouldn't break. P-Line XX Strong is as good a line as I have ever used. It casts forever. I've been trying to convince myself to try a braid, power pro, but it hasn't happened yet.
just my opinion...

Trilene 15lb. on baitcasters, and 10lb. on spinners. Change 3 or 4 times a year.

You're supposed to change your line?? But it's so easy to see when it looks like a giant slinky.

Lots of opinions here. My biggest problem has been curl memory, perhaps I don't fish enough. Without slamming anyones preference, what would you absolutely NOT use in the 8-12 lb range. Abbreviations will be fine.

NOT use? Mono in general.

I like Co-polymers or braid (& flouro as leader -never as line)
