chinese made fly reels?
i was browsing ebay and took notice of some lovely looking china knockoff performance saltwater fly reels for around$70. they look bullet proof and are machine aluminum anodized in cool colors too. they look just like a tibor or abel reel or something. i mean they have no brand name and the quality looks like japanese(not chinese) made.

Seeing as how we are bankrupting our medical industry and we are sending all of our money overseas to foreign oil companies and Asian manufacturers, why not another 70 U.S. greenbacks?

I feel you fishinfool but on my budget any reel is going to be china made. and i am truly saddened by the the bankrupting of our county. well i 'm not so sure about the china reels. no instructions, no way to order spare spool or even have parts replaced, dosen't even specify if that are large arbor and disk drag. heck they could even be asbestos disk drag. not something you wana have if your being smoked by a large barracuda! i'm just looking for a very solid reel that can be dropped in the water, sand, rocks what ever.
the okuma slv seems ok. but i was looking for something more bullet proof. can you recommend any skeletal design, machined aluminum reels under $100? I love reels in sexy anodized colors
