Hit the bay early with grasscarp wed. The fog had us hampered early and threw us off our game plan which is not good for team a.d.d. Grasscarp caught a nice 25" redfish early and in his haste to show him off fumbled/juggled/threw the fish off the boat. The skunk was off the boat and back on the boat within 15 seconds. We then fished the next 6 hours jumping spot to spot with out a bite. Running out time, we pulled to our last spot of the day (bars in front of the bay) and hit the jackpot. We caught 4 nice reds to 25" and 12 nice trout in an hour. We had to throw back oversize trout. All fish were caught on chartreuse colored baits and jigheads. if it was not chartruese they would not bite. Water temp was 59-62, water depth was 2- 4 ft over oyster bars.
Dixie Reb, I taught Roland Martin everything he knows but we are of no relation. Sometimes I look like Jimmy Houston and when my hair gets really long I turn into Rick Flair. Agian no relation to any of those either.
We did ok, I came in 3rd place for the trout division out of 150 fisherman, so I was happy about that. But, the conditions were less than favorable. Steady 15-20 knot wind out of the east and southeast made it tough.
