Down South Lures
I was on the other side of town this morning for a Doc appt and stopped in at Kevins on the way back to work. My plan was, along with just browsing, to pick up one or two of the Down South Lures to qualify for the $100 award in case I met up with a suicidal Red on Saturday. Floor staff at Kevins had never heard of them. I was under the impression that Kevins was carrying them?
I had to take them to a computer and log on to the forum to show them what in heck I was talking about. Anybody got any straight information??

Re: Down South Lures
If you had read the post, the next line says ORDER them.
You could also call/e-mail the sponsor and get them direct, the choice was yours.

Since it is now Tuesday and the tournament is Saturday, I would call Mike and get some shipped TODAY, if I wanted to have a chance at an extra $100.00.
Each member boat that enters the big red side pot will get ONE pack at sign in Saturday morning until they are gone.

Are you saying that I should not have expected to find any at Kevins or that they would not know anything about the lures?

The announcement was made on March 19, 2010, I ordered mine on the 22nd. I know Linn would be happy to order them or you, you have to ask.

That could explain why they couldn't find any on display (and Linn wasn't there). I hope no body was planning on going by Kevins and picking one up before they took off for Keaton. (like me). Could bring into question whether or not every one had a fair shot at the $100 offer (at least imo).
Since this subject is in front of us... are the Deep South lures only the soft plastic's at this time? When we were looking at the site there was a note indicating that some top water lures were about to be released. Is their offer related only to the soft plastics?

I'm positive that Mike would be glad to sell anyone (with a credit card or check) as many packs as he was and ship them to be here by Friday.Sir reel wrote:That could explain why they couldn't find any on display (and Linn wasn't there). Mike is currently only making soft plastics at this time. He has a mold for the top water but it needed some work. He'll be bringing it to market when he was it perfected.

OK.. before this gets out of hand, I'll just say that my planning was apparently very poor, I did not read far enough into the information that was provided, and I'm not sure what the old saying is about planning and emergencies.
