Great day@Ecofina 4/3/10
Had a Easter egg hunt to be at around 4:00 today so decided to hit the water early for our 1st trip of the year(My son, Daniel, and I) . Headed out from the landing at 6:45. Tried to fish in close but was too choppy for topwater. Headed in the Aucilla direction 1st but only managed 2 trout and a flounder by nine. Water was murky and 62 degrees pretty much all day. Headed towards Rock Island and caught a couple before not 1 but 2 boats decide they want my drift for themselves. So we moved a little farther towards RI, and it was on. 5-6' of water we wound up with 13 trout to 23", 1 flounder and 15-20 shorts. Most were caught on pinfish color soft plastic either with or without cork. Awesome day with my son and friend.

Looks like you had a nice catch and the best fishing partner a man can have, his son. Both my sons started fishing the flats with me at about four years old. Their in their mid-thirties now and still love it. Seems more and more people are hogging in on drifts now days. Wonder what happened to sportsmanship. I've even had guides do it in the last couple years. Close enough to cast my line in their boats. Again, great catch.

Great day indeed... Question? Two people 13 trout, is that over the limit?
Keep our fish stock strong... Release more fish...

Great job on the trout. Most people were struggling in Keaton. The fish must have heard about the tournament and headed north. Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks BB. We plan to start where we left off sat. Maybe they will still be in that area. I tried to use your tactics. No fish in 30 minutes time to move. Was going to go friday but no water to get in and out of Ecofina. A boat like ours needs 2' coming and going to feel safe. You been out lately? Ever tried Ecofina?
