Easter Morning on Lake Talquin!

Post by rad07h »

I figured Lake Talquin may be pretty empty this morning since it was Easter and boy was I right. I was the only boat out there today. It made for a very nice and peaceful morning. My girlfriend came along with me this morning for her 1st ever bass trip and I was fortunate enough to put her on some fish. I had the boat in the water and we had our lines out by 7:15 AM. It was a cool 60 degrees with plenty of fog to go around. There was no wind and I found some clear water on the north side of the lake yesterday so I knew where I wanted to fish this morning. I also knew these big sow's had moved shallow recently and I knew a few good places we may try to catch a few. Well I did great and my girlfriend had a blast. I made sure to take plenty of pictures so I could share them with the forum. I hope yall enjoy. I had a 5 fish limit of 20lbs 6 ounces which included a 9lb bass and a 6lb bass and my girlfriend had a 5 fish limit of 8lbs. Not to bad considering she didnt know how to set a hook or really how to fish period. I was using a watermelon seed Zoom superfluke and casting it as close to the bank and thru the pads as I could get it..from that point I would dead stick it (let it sit for 10 seconds at a time and barely twitch it back in) these fish would pick it up and I would nail em... hope yall get on some fish while they are spawning and enjoy the pics
