Spring Break Fishing At St. Marks 4/6

Post by Scoop Sea »

I took the family out fishing at St. Marks today to do a little Spring Break Fishing (Thanks JT for the suggestion). Although the bite wasn't as hot as I was hoping it would be for the kids, we still had a great day on the water. We caught 10 trout, 3 keepers ranging from 15.5 - 20 inches, and one nice flounder. The water was very clear and temps ranged from 72 - 74 degress in the 3-5 foot range. The gulp jerk shad (new penny) and the white gulp worked best for us. Hopefully we will be able to get at least one more day in on the water before the kids return to school.

Here are some pics from today:

Looks as if the kids had a wonderful day. Take a kid fishing is the greatest thing in the world.

I agree, taking a kid fishing it a great way to spend the day, especially if they are biting. Yesterday the bite wasn't too good, but the girls had a blast dangling their feet in the water and looking at all of the sea creatures that came by the boat. Hopefully we will get one more day in before school starts back.

JT, the big one came from the area you suggested. We got a few more from that area as well. As the wind picked up we headed over closer to the Lighthouse and fished that area. We picked up one and the flounder out there.

To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
