Manual start pull cord

Post by BrogensDuck »

I have a little 9.9 Yamaha manual start 4 stroke and pulled the cord out of it. It has some wear, so I want to replace it. Is there anyone locally that has one(a replacement pull cord), or am I better off just asking the Parkway guys to order one and install it. The installation seems like a #$%& too, so unless I hear differently from you guys, I will likely take it to the Parkway team.

Thanks

Buy some rope from the hardware store and replace it. If you need a new handle, a piece of 1" or 1 1/2 " dowel rod works great.

I would definitely NOT just buy rope from a hardware store.

Take a small piece of the rope to any lawnmower shop and buy STARTER rope, it is different.

As for changing the rope it really should not be all that hard to do. Most recoil starters are fairly simple. The biggest trick is in winding the rope for proper recoil. If you want help PM me.
