Keaton 4.10.10 Big Trout
The whole family came down for the weekend. We struck out two weeks ago and thought this weekend would be a sure thing. The weather was beautiful and the water temp was hovering in the 67-71 range.
We decided to go north to a few spots in 4.5 -5 feet of water. The water had definatley cleared up from two weeks earlier. We pulled up and started our drift. We put a few nice trout in the boat and it wasn't 15 minutes that another boat pulled up within 50 yards from us. Anyway, the ladies stayed in the bed so it was just 3 of us for the morning. We picked up 8 nice trout from 17" - to a fat 25" gator.
David with 25" gator
Most of these trout were caught on gulp under a CT and this new suspended bait my SPRO friend picked up in Texas. The 25" trout crushed this new bait. It is called a Corky Fat Boy. All the trout I caught on it were over 18 inches. Needless to say I am a big fan. I think Mirrolure just bought them out in the Fall.

The ladies (including the Puppy) came out with us in the afternoon and we picked up a few more.
We ended up the day with 10 trout and 3 spanish.
TOTAL PIC
Sunday rolled around and we were stuck at the house until the tide came in a little. We finally got to our spot around 10 and there were no trout. We headed to another spot in deep water and the bite was on.
We picked up 12 trout from 15"-20". The ladies joined us and were ready to get on the road back to GA so it was hard to leave with the trout biting. We also caught 2 spanish and a nice flounder. Here are a few pics from Sunday. Thanks to Brandon for coming, without him we would have a had about half as many.
It was a great trip.

Dang nice trout.
Those Fat Boys are the deal in Texas, been around a long time. The guy that used to own them, Paul Brown, is heading up their production in Costa Rica.

Nice fish.
7-8 feet of water north??? If you wasn't' straight in from North birdrack, you must have been almost out of sight of land for that depth.
