SGI, 4/17

Decided to spend a day enjoying the coast and took a leisurely drive to SGI. Got to the state park mid-morning. Did some shore fishing with market shrimp tipped on nylures and jig-heads. Caught two of the biggest whiting I've ever seen (thought they were little reds at first). The fellas next to me caught two pomps on fiddler crabs. I think the pomp run is just about to start.

Reports from folks coming from the east end of the island seemed so-so. The mack attack on that end doesn't seem to be at 100% . . . yet.

All in all, a great day. Even took a BRISK dip in the surf before heading home.

Good report. I don't know what the water temp at the island was Saturday. but it was in the 60's at St. Marks. Too cold for me to take a dip. :o
