Took about three years -but I was finally on the boat with the infamous Paul Chavis on Friday. We launched the HB and headed to the west in search of some fat daddy reds. Fished like it was the last day of the season and scratched out about 20 or so fish. Nothing great - had a one good fish on and the braid let go...that braid needs to go...lost three fish this weekend on the same rod from braid breaking

. We might have had 11 pounds with the two biggest fish about 2.5 shy of the mark...but decent weights. Caught the fish on topwater and flat metal.
Lil Chalk had some buddies over for a pool party Friday night...that lasted into the early morning hours. After the dust settled the next morning - me and Lil Chalk struck out for gold again in a different area. Rolled into my first spot...within the first 20 casts we had a two man limit

. Was a decent school of fish, but they weren't the right ones...so I moved on and saw a few more...but the place was pretty much void of life. Tide really fell out and the HPX was in 4wd High on the way in...the boat will run in the morning dew I think
Alot of places the fish seem off by a few weeks...seems like a March pattern over here...a lot of poor reports of late. Should be getting better...saw more fish this weekend than last week.
Lil Chalk laid into a couple yesterday - he was squealing like a pig
