Saturday at Econfina

Post by Ron Wilson »

My buddy was wanting to get his new boat out on the water after getting the 10 hours break in on the motor. Launched just after first light, saw/spoke to BB on the way out of the channel (nice boat BB). We headed close in to try for reds and got after a few. Boated two keepers by 0800. Was thinking, man, this is going to be a good day. Went into deeper water to get after the trout............notta. Fished different depths, baits, etc.. and only managed 1 keeper. Came back in shallow and hooked up on two more reds. Called it a day....on the trailer and heading North by 15:00. My buddy schooled me on the reds today.

Good job on the reds sorry the trout did not work out for you. I wish I could catch a red. I have never caught one. :smt011 I tried to raise members on the radio and would have gladly told anyone what was working for us. Had a fellow in a blue McKee Craft drift close enough to talk and we told them, but they still did not seem to catch any. The trout only wanted straight jigs. :-D
