Motor Problems
Just got back from river with project boat. Having motor problems. It's a 1976 Evenrude 35 HP model No.35652G. (photo on "Project Boat" in Boating section) Had it three years on another boat. It always ran like a champ. Motor sat up for six months. Starts right up and idles fine with choke pulled out. As soon as you push in the choke, the motor dies out. Sounds like a fuel starvation problem. Got it home and cleaned fuel filters, checked fittings on hose from tank, fuel bulb stays hard so I'm not loosing vacuum, checked butterfly linkage on carb. Thought the float might be sticking, but it's a major operation to pull carb or get to float bowl, just tried tapping on it with hammer. Out of Ideas. Any suggestions appreciated.

Re: Motor Problems
Put sea foam in the fuel, run it long enough for it to in the entire system and then let it sit overnight. While you have it running, rev it up high and then totally choke it it "but not till it quits running" and then let the motor pick up revs again and then choke it again. I have done the choking bit while on the water and made a bad running motor start running right again "kinda like a youngun"

Re: Motor Problems
Do not forget to replace the fuel lines in the motor. They are probably gummed and corroded from ethanol. You might want to look at the fuel line going to the motor also. That ethanol wreaks havoc on rubber fuel lines.
