Presnells Inshore Slam Tourney This Weekend

Post by BayGator »

For anybody who wants to prefish for the NFGFC Port St. Joe tourney, Fred and everyone at Presnell's will be having their annual Inshore Slam Tournament this Friday and Saturday May 21 & 22. Fishing begins at daylight on Friday and concludes on Saturday at 3pm sharp EST. It only costs $40 per boat and there should be a great turnout and a lot of giveaways at weigh in. You can sign up at Presnell's and launch anywhere in St. Joe Bay. The format will be 1 redfish, 1 trout, and 1 flounder total weight for grand prize. There is also a prize for heaviest of each individual species except for redfish which will go by most spots. There is not a mandatory captains meeting or check in, but you must be in line when the horn blows at 3pm EST or you cannot weigh fish.

Fishing was tough for most in the tourney this weekend. Fred and everyone put on a great tournament and they had 120 people entered. The winning slam stringer was 13.01 lbs. The big trout was an unbelievable monster at 7.81 lbs. and over 30". We fished for nearly 12 hours before even seeing a redfish and landed a couple of 23" dinks. It was tough and hot out but we had a good time anyway.
