Respectfully beg to differ on that one.spraywash wrote:Its hard to "target" cobia, unness you've got a tuna towers and drive around looking for them.

My bud, sharkman, and I have been targeting them the past few years and probably bat about 90% on our trips out, with multiples most days, and we don't sight fish for them in the our big bend murky waters. Pretty predictable from May through late September... just have to know the best structure areas to target. Enough said...

Re: bait for cobia
missed one sat on the east coast above where your talking Hilton Head saw several caught fishing live bait anchored in the middle of a sound they were fishing the bait on the bottom mostly sharks and a few cobia mixed in.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?
Re: bait for cobia
Shellman's Bluff is in Georgia just north of Darien. The bait of choice on that coast is freshly baited menhatten on as light of a multiple hook live bait rig as possible.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

We used to love to go eat and party at the old Buccaneer Club outside Darien. One of a few places where you had to knock and pass inspection to get in.
To say it was remote would be a compliment!
I haven't been since it burned and was rebuilt. I'm sure the food is excellent but the atmosphere
can't be as good.
