Well after a couple of days of getting used to my (new to me) boat and learning the "ins & outs" I decided to try some serious fishing this a.m. Kim gave me a pass and decided to stay at the house so I was solo. I launched at Burnt Mill Creek at 0600 and headed East. Water was slightly stained and fish were working up against the grassy areas. I was on the trolling motor most of the time and saw a lot of singles and doubles and a few tails during the morning but no takers. Fish were spooky and the ones I got a chance to throw at were not hungry. The only bite that was hot was the flies biting my azz!!!....
Rounded a small point and had fish working up ahead. Eased up closer and staked out with the WANG and started tossing a D.O.A. CAL-SHAD Red/Gold glitter rigged weedless. As I was reeling in one of my casts, 2 fish were headed right for the boat and I pulled the DOA right next to this guy and he ate it and took off!!! Awesome pull and he came in at 28". I didn't have my "readers" on, but I think the Boga read 7ish but I'm not sure.....awesome tug none the less! Not a stellar day of catching, but a good day for me!! I'll take it!
"The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank GOD for the United States Marine Corps." Eleanor Roosevelt, 1945
How do you like the WANG Anchor? Much cheaper alternative to PowerPole, that's for sure.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn. ~Chuck Clark

Maybe a review is in order , I have been trying to find a good alternative to the power pole (something cheaper).

The WANG setup that came on the boat is pretty slick! If I was any good at poling the boat I would like it much better. It's mounted right next to the poling platform and all you need is a bungee cord to keep some tension on it so it won't slide down while poling or trolling. I was on the TM so getting back to stake it was kind of a pain, but overall it works great. Once you stick it you stay stuck!! Just remember to take it out of the transom mount before you take off!!
Overall....
