Dave showed up at 1.30 pm and joined Calvin and I for the more serious fishing...... I was looking for redemption. Since it was high tide, we started fishing in less than 3' looking for reds. Dave managed to catch one red but to my surprise, we also picked up 11 trout. When it got too shallow to stay in the area, we ran back to the area where I saw all the bait earlier and we completed caught the reminder 4 trout and a nice bonus red in less than 20 minutes. We were back at the dock at 6.30 pm.
Note that this red was caught a ways from shore. I dont think it got lost. More likely that it came out during negative low tide and decided to stick around with all the bait.

As usual, Calvin caught two of the biggest almost back to back at the last spot. This one was 22''

and this at 24''

Saturday we had blue sky and just enough wind to push us along, the perfect condition for some top water action. Couldnt pass up the opportunity, Dave and I throwing topwater most of the day, while Calvin sticked with pinfish. Calvin was doing a number on the on them trout but I did managed to catch 4 keeper and at least twice that many catfish on the Zara spooks.
Dave had a couple of nice fish on surface plugs as well including this 20''

and this little guy

All in all, it was a great 3 days of fishing. The water temperature was around 84 but was as high as 87 in the spot where we were looking for red in 2' of water. Most fish were caught in 3.5-4' water except when we were looking for reds and top water plugging on a bar in 2' water. One thing I learned on this trip is that if you ran into an area with a lot of bait but no fish or a lot of smaller fish, dont give up on it. When the condition is right, the bigger fish will feed. This I believe was the case for us on Friday.
