Me & Lil Chalk
Took Lil Chalk around to check a few of my super secret spots this morning. Was greeted by a nice high tide of cool water - it was hot as bath water last weekend. First spot - showed some good mullet and finger baits. Saw a good slot fish with a copilot working down the bank. Cast to the lead, but my Kentucky wind-age was off a hair and the copilot scarfed up the jerk bait. The copilot was 23" and released to fight again another day...poled into location X and it was dirty from mullet. Caught a trout and missed some sea-robins in there. Poled around the corner and what looked to be a 25" red coming down the bank was more of a gator trout. Pitched the white bait to the fish and it nosed the bait and didn't like it....was a good solid 25" fish.
Moved on down the bank and bumped into a nice school of upper slot reds..had two follows but not takers...was the best school of reds I have seen over here in a few weeks. Hooked another nice trout that came off at the boat
We put the boat on the trailer and was going to CIS...got there and I have never seen that many boats at CIS. Reminded me of St. Marks lighthouse ramp on a good day. Capt. Leake was pulling out and he said the place was full of boats, so me and Lil Chalk decided the pool was a good place to relax and headed to the house.
Headed back in the morning to check my favorite place....hopefully the reds have come back.
Caught fish and saw fish...nothing broke...was a great day
Ready to do it again tomorrow

Re: Me & Lil Chalk
Sounds like a fun day with your son, Chalk. Hope you found some reds when you went back.
