Where should I go?

Post by onefishtwofish »

I have scalloped Econfina, so I know my way around a bit there. Never fished it though. I have never been to Keaton. Have a buddy coming over from Alachua and both are about the same drive. I am most likely to try trout as I want to put him on some fish. Which would ya'll say is the better odds? We are gonna meet up on Wed, weather permitting.

Havn't fished Econfina in a while, might have to rely on someone else for that advice. I do fairly well out of Keaton. Tore them up last Monday over that way. (See Yates Creek 5-31-10) Very easy to find your way into good fishing. Crowds are terrible at Keaton though this time of year. Arrive a little late and you'll park your truck a mile from the ramp or lift. Don't have to sweat the tides, you can launch or run the channel even on dead low tide.

Keaton is as good as any this time of year.
If you want a great trip, pm me and I'll get the number of a top notch guide out of Keaton.

Thanks for the offer, but if'n anyone is paying for a guide, it won't be me. I think I am the guide on this trip!

I sure could have shortened the learning curve in this area if I had done that 20 or so years ago.
