So apparently being mad at BP and wanting to exercise my capitalistic right to boycott them has been delicately linked to communism... What a crock..

Here's the truly irrational train of thought:

Some Tea Party conservative says that government regulators hold just as much responsibility as BP for the current mess; however, they advocate smaller government and making weak regulators weaker. They say that offshore drilling could overcome this catastrophe and we could learn to do it safely, but they would never fund government regulators to monitor that safety.

They say other irrational things like "drill baby, drill" and "I can see Russia from my house".

Currently, we have social extremists running the fed. government and it sucks. But, Tea Party whackos running things wouldn't be any better. We would all end up needing one of Dubble's donkeys because the underfunded highway system would fall through.

In the meantime, I'm going to drive my Honda Civic to work today, because it is more than twice as efficient as a full size truck. And, I don't need a full size truck when I'm not pulling something. And, maybe it will somehow lend some credibility to my argument since apparently no one is entitled to their first amendment rights unless they are doing something to help.

What you smokin?

You are free to boycott whatever you wish. How logical is it to cut off the supply of money needed by a private company to clean up the mess thereby leaving the cost potentially upon the government.

Tea Party folks want the government to quit spending money it doesn't have and quit killing business by threatening to tax everything that is remotely successful. Tea Party folks are not ultra anything, in fact, from everything seen by most who study and report, the tea part folks come from nearly every walk of life and political belief other than socialist or communist.

Conservatives are not against reasonable regulation of dangerous industries such as the Oil Industry. We are against over regulation of all industries and we are against corruption among the very regulators who are supposed to regulate as appears to be the case with the oil regulators. In this case, we all know that when a company suffers a major loss like this, it is going to change its practices going forward, whether there is government intervention or not.

You may scream your position from the mountaintop ... that is your right under the 1st Amendment. It is equally my right to stand upon a neighboring mountaintop and scream back that you are full of male bovine feces.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Of course your entitled to your 1st amendment rights even if you don't use them to promote a solution rather than whine about the problem.
Good deal you drive a Honda to work support other countries economy not your own. Organize a search party for somebody that is trying to solve the problem, rather than describe asign blame or complain about it. When you find them explain in words not actions how much you care I'm sure they will buy it.
Me not so much.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?

Credit deserved for a rather unique twist from sicko minds.....driving a Honda Civic lending credibility to a position re: first amendment rights. I still got a few Makers Mark cobwebs from toasting (several times)...whatever I was toasting.....but that doesn't make "walking around sense."

When you're driving your wheels and you see a guy or gal in a big ole mean looking and sounding pickumup, pulling nothing, with big smiles on their faces cause they're happy and know you're jealous....admit it...nothing to do with first amendment rights.
It may be that my sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
