1st time to Econfina 6/5/2010

Post by No Slack »

Made my first trip to Econfina on Saturday. Never realized that the Ecky and the Aucilla were so close. Definitely gets me closer to the spots I've had good luck at lately. Could not buy a trout bite. Wind was kicking up and waves were rocking the boat. Ran from some rain but found some holes and flats that I hope to get back to soon. Just before leaving, I slipped up in a creek that was pretty well protected from the wind and hooked into a 26.75" Red on the old gold spoon. Quick trip, back in Tally by lunch.

Not sure if he's on here but thanks to Bobby Wilson from Albany for holding the rope while I parked the truck. Enjoyed talking with you and your Dad.

Lot less rocks at Ecofina and it's a short run to Aucilla or Rock Island. It was a tough day for sure.

It's only about 3.5 miles to Aucilla from Icky. We put in at Icky with our bigger boat and run to Aucilla sometimes, less hazards at Icky and the landing is better.
