I think this might be the "rest of the story"...pulled it from the FS board.

"A friend was supposed to show up at 6pm Sat evening to go bass fishing on the lake which would of put us actually fishing around 6:30 or so. He showed up at 5pm instead, cool I'm ready lets go!! Not that it mattered but I asked why was he early and his reply was "Not sure, I got ready early I guess." We got to the South gator hole (you can guess how it got it's name) about 5:30 and shut the motor off. Not 2 minutes later we hear an air horn going off but really couldn't tell where it was. Scratch I asked "you think someone's kid is playing with the horn??" and about that time we could barely make out "HELP!!!, HELP!!!" followed by the horn again. We new it wasn't a kid playing around and hauled tail in the direction of where we thought the horn sounded, bobbing and weaving around the islands, tussets and pads trying to locate a boat or someone. After going 200yds or so we saw a boat with nobody in it. As we got about 40 yds from the boat I see a hand waving from the water.

We approached and the guy was just about exhausted and overly panicked clinging on to the side of the boat yelling "it sinking, it sinking!!!" He was in a gheenoe and it wasn't sinking but about 1/2 full of water but still afloat for the most part. We calmed the guy down, got him our boat. He was oriental and it was hard to make out what he was saying at his point but we could make out THANK YOU SO MUCH over and over. I bailed the boat and got it back floating like it should be while my buddy calmed him down. We asked how did this happen and all we could make out was "I don't know." After about 30 min he was calmed down enough to get in the boat, got the motor running and off he went back to the hill. We went fishing and did pretty good.

I'm not telling this to sound like a hero or get any ataboys. I'm telling it because it was meant to be from the Man up stairs that we got on the water earlier than we planed to and were able to help this man or even save his life."

went solo fishing lake miccosukee on my Gheenoe on Sat. afternoon. the drain plug got loose and water came in boat. was too late when I found it and the boat was half sunk. After air honked for about 3 minutes and came these two gentlemen, and another boat. they saved my life and the boat.

shame on me. was so pissed off and even forgot to ask for their names. they are God's angels. one of them is about in his 50's with white moustache, the other one is about in his 20's or 30's.

there was a boat about 200 yards away from me and just did not respond my honking and crying. please, please help save a life.
