Now today's high tide was 7:40 and the difference between low and high was only .75ft of water, not much change for sure. However the currents were pretty strong so maybe this will make up for the lack of water exchange. Started out in front to the lighthouse, in about 4ft, and all aspects looked like a good day. Four shorts right off the bat, and a reasonable good bite. Partner says what you using, well I was using a 5" glow/limetruse curly tail with fishbites under a cigar CT. So he rigs the the samr bait I am using to give it a try. Anytime we were shallower than 4ft we usually ended up with the pesky Pin fish nibblers, however even tring to catch them was not to happen. They would nibble but never enough to catch and use. Fianlly caught a just bearly keeper, and decided to cull it instead of putting it on ice and risk shrinkage.
Moved further east, and finally found a little more bite, but not by much, lots of shorts on the day, and my partner is getting a little upset cause I throw it out and get bites almost immediately, but they do not like his a much. I cannot explain that, both rigs were almost identical, except for the CT size, maybe that was it. We fished are azz off, and at one of the last stops, partner gets a keeper. The bite was real soft and short striking, if you were not ready to set, then forget it wait till the next cast. Total for the day, more shorts than I wish to count, a few lost at the boat and 4 keepers. Nice day on the water.
