bag limits

Post by spraywash »

Am considering going out for my first ever two day/ overnight trip. Since i'll be out on the water for more than 24 hours, does a "one daily bag limit" apply, or can I keep two limits. If the answer is yes, how do i prove to the officer that I've been out overnight?

Ha! Good luck convincing Johnny Law you stayed overnight. That's a great question though.

It's a posession limit...in other words you can not have more that your limit in your possession at one time.

you can only have one possession limit at a time while on the water. You can go drop a limit off at the truck at night and go back out an be legal. The 5 fish per person per day for trout is misleading. I have a court date in Perry next friday for this very thing. Went out for two days, came back in and got a ticket for too many fish. The warden didn't care that we had all our lights and camping gear on the boat. Now it's up to the judge... :(

You would be better off to ask the prosecutor’s office to reduce the charge and plead No-Contest :o The fact that you was out for 2 days has no bearing on the fact that the law states "You may have a ONE days limit in your possession, unless you are on a chartered two day fishing trip and the captain has the proper documentation" :smt009 Hell, you can't legally TRANSPORT more than a day’s possession unless the fish have been cleaned AND frozen "and they have to be obviously frozen"!!

PS: If you go to the truck and drop off the fish, go back out and catch more fish, come in after midnight "making it the next day" and add those fish, the man WILL write you up for possession of over the limit PERIOD!! I bolded that real important part above now
