Chris or Clay Oaks will get a limit of grouper 95% of the time. They operate out of Ok. Bay.

I don't think there are any head boats operating out of Panacea or Carrabelle, just regular charter boats. Destin, Panama City or maybe Mexico Beach would be the closest for a head boat.

Haven't been on a head boat in a couple of years, used to jump a head boat once a year for nostalgia out of Panama City near Capt. Anderson's restaurant. My uncle used to take me out on the Florida Queen when I about eight or nine years old.

Best advice on the head boat is avoid weekends and holidays if at all possible, middle of the week was best time to avoid a crowed boat. Your luck with fish depends on the capt'n and the crew, but most importantly your patience with the yahoo fishing beside you.

Went out on the "Swoop" last September from Destin. Had about 30 people on board. I caught lots of Mango snapper, but only a couple of nice grouper were caught by others. High point was when bottlenose dolphin (porpoise) RIPPED someone's line like it was thread for about 40 yds before it popped.

Crew attended to every fish for you. Instant camaraderie to the guys or girls next to you and racing to see who could pull up the next one first.

Probably not fun on every trip but had a good time that trip - do it again next Sept.
