Scallops?

Post by newboy »

Well I haven't been knocking it out of the park fishing this year but I'm gonna try scalloping now. Everybody I know acts like it's the most fun you can have south of heaven. i'm gonna be around St. Marks/Panacea the end of the month. Does anybody now where to find scallops in that area?

Unless someone reports otherwise there are very few scallops out of St Marks this year.
I went to St Joe and picked up a fair number.
Sounds like Keaton is the place to be... search scallops on the forum and you will see plenty of report.

There are a TON of scallops in the St. Marks area this year. Just stop in 4-5' where ever you SEE the bottom and start pick'n em up. ;-)

Don't know where they have seen scallops in the St. Marks area. I have seen none. Waste of time in that area, try Keaton or Port St. Joe the usuall hot spots.

PD22...(and Bman)... Your absolutely correct... that's the reason I stated where ever you SEE bottom!! I ain't seen the bottom in 4-5 ft out of Saint Marks this year!

Can't tell you about the area you want to go but if you try Keaton I'll tell you where we found them the last two Saturdays. Go to number two bird rack, turn south about one or two miles and about a mile out from shore in 3-4 foot water. You should find them.

If you need better directions let me know and I'll give you numbers of our last good spot last Saturday.
