Where to launch my boat?

Post by danery13 »

I have a Trophy 2802 which is around 30' with a 10' beam and about 7000 lbs (dry weight). It drafts in the 2'-2 1/2' range with twin outboards. I was wondering if there are any good spots to launch between St Marks and Carrabelle? Say the Shell Point/Panacea area. I know some of those launches arent friendly to bigger offshore boats. I can go to St Marks or Carrabelle its just that some of my spots are closer to Panacea. Any input would be helpful. Thanks.

Rock Landing at Panacea.
Off Rock Landing road just past Coastal Restaurant and Mikes Marine.

Thanks, I appreciate that. Is it pretty easy to get into the gulf from there? Any shallow water/shoals to worry about?

Plus when you get back there is lunch waiting for you!!!
Used it the first time last weekend and found it to be very easy to use. I do not have anything close the the size you have but my bottom machine said everything was deep enough for you

Thanks for all the help. Is there a launch in Mashes Sands? I have an older map that shows one at the mouth of the Oclocknee on the east side in Mashes Sands. Would save me some distance on my boat.

Much safer I think than Mashes Sands(Deeper Water)

The ramp drops off quickly at Mash Island and the mouth of the channel is very shallow. You might get through on a high tide or you might be stuck waiting on more water. The Panacea ramp is probably a safer bet.

Mashes is plenty deep "right now" but I don't know if they fixed the ramp or not! I have seen more than one trailer pull outta there and leave the axle in the water over the years :smt012

That Rock Landing ramp is nice but doesn't look real long on low tide either!
