MAN, what a killer weekend

Post by wevans »

Started useing the Red Dot spinner this weekend and it passed with flying colors  Saturday was T-Ball at 9:10, so I just went down to the river and cast from the dock, first fish is a 2 pound Bass, half a dozon more cast and a 5 pounder gives me a good test of the drag  20 minutes and enuf fish for lunch :-D cleaned em and set in the fridge and went and had a great time with the kids at the rec. park :smt049 got out to Bottoms at 12:30 with the wife as my pard  we picked up a fish here and there till around 2 then found where the big boys hung out :o over the next hour we put 6 more fish in the livewell from 17" to 24" and would have had one more 20+ but the wifes drag quit working on the Zebco again  Only fished for 3 hours before the wife started getting sea sick and we called it a day
Sunday at Bottoms started really great, first fish in the boat is another 24 incher, next fish a just under 20 incher, then a 17" with a few shorts trowed in :D My nephew got off at 7 in Perry "Perry FD" and we met up at the landing at 8 "he was stoked seeing them biguns in the box already" :-D We proceded to fish from Bottoms to Oyster Bay and could only find four more keepers "unless ya count them that he lost on his top water" All of the Trout were caught on a White/Red tail shrimp jig under a CT except three of the smaller ones on top water, water temp average was around 77 and the water ran from stained around Bottoms to gin clear around Oyster Bay :smt023

RB, the ramp is at the end of Bottoms landing Rd. :-D first paved road before you enter Panacea on the left.
Jmay, most of my catching has been around Piney for the last few trips  they just are not showing in great numbers yet but most are keeper size and over

We fished around the bird rack out of spring creek on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday around 4:30 caught 8 nice trout, no shorts, two bluefish one about 5 pounds. All in about 2-3 hours. Cooked them up on the grill for dinner with 5# of shrimp. :lick:
Think I saw you out there on Sunday...around 10:30. We were drifting around the bird rack. 21' cc LOGIC, w/ T-top. We only fished about 2 hours and caught 5 keeper trout, all on saltwater assassins, candy corn and pink chart.
Would've hollered on the radio, but antenna suffered on the offshore trip...put some lock tight on as soon as we got back!

Wasn't positive it was you...could make out the G3 and some writing on the side, but didn't want to mess up anyone's fishin. I'll be sure to give a shout next time.
Think yer right about the late afternoon over there. We left them bite'n late on Saturday when we had enough to eat. We did pick up one that was 19" out there Sunday. And, saw a school of big jacks but couldn't get them to bite.
