This board's way too quiet

Post by Williamsdad »

What's up? No one catching? Me either, Saturday or Sunday, must be because Luc's away. He'll be back next week for a short time before returning to UWF.

For aluminum boat owners - can't say enough about Tallahassee Welding on Jackson Bluff Rd.. Twice now, they've saved the day, repairing damages for which I didn't have a clue, (crack in hull, broken seat base). Today I was in unannounced at 8:30 and it was ready by 10:00, and to me, very reasonably priced. If you need some help, give them a try.

Let's see some fish!

I chased a bunch of Reds around the creeks and flats Sunday morning. I guess they were up all night with the full moon filling up their stomachs. I saw a couple of times the lure went right past their noses without a single twitch or movement. I was able to land 3 short Trout and 2 hard heads. Thank goodness I was able to get a tug on the line. I am pretty confident I will be tearing them up this weekend.

I'm installing a hinge on my axle tounge. Managed to cut a perfect 15 degree cut to match the hinge break, only to discover that the hinge required straight 90 cuts!!! Also managed to start cutting on the wrong line, so now my tongue will both fold and be 5" shorter. Watch out, we may be on the water this weekend!

Oh and I still need to troubleshoot my idle issue. It cuts out shifting out of nuetral unless you push past the shift into the throttle in time. Hoping it is something as "simple" as a LnS, but I'll toss a can of seafoam in the tank for good measure. Not really a huge issue except when docking and loading. I can see it being a nightmare for watersports.

Also going to pick up a spare tach from a bud and troubleshoot my non-functioning tach. Not sure if it is the tach or the signal. The System Check works, so I know I've got power and ground.

Newboy, which part of SC? My family is from the upstate (30 miles south of Greenville) and both my wife and I went to college in SC. I went to Furman and she did her undergraduate studies at Wofford.
