Panacea trout fishing with dad... 7-29

Post by bman »

Had a great day on the water with Dad.
We headed out from Panacea at daylight.

Windy as heck but out of the North so it laid the seas down flat for most of the morning. It did get choppy just before noon.
We caught at least 40 trout- plus a bunch of ladies and jacks. But only one was a legal.
It felt like every single fish was 14 to 14.999 inches.

Good news is in a month I know where to go hammer the keepers

Most were on Gulp under a cork- I should have tried a hard bait because the pin fish were harassing my gulp!
Dad tried topwater but just got ladyfish.

We fished ledges that drop off from 3' to 7' or 8' fish were on the breaks.

Water temp was 90 degrees!!
And we were right by marker #.... Wait, Dad didnt want me to tell you guys that :smt005

Best part was just being out there with Pop talking and catching fish.

Some of us were sweating our butts off at work while you enjoyed a leisurely day of goofing off.

If you'd be a little nicer to Carol...she wouldn't send you up there :D
