Port St. Joe - 7/31/10

Post by leesburgga »

Was able to get out today. After changing all three batteries after the twins wouldn't start (they were four years old - didn't do any troubleshooting), we finally got some baits in the water about 10:30. That was after leaving our hotel room in Pt. St. Joe at 6:00 am so we could get at it early. Anyhow, got a couple of kings and a bonito at the buoy line and the Virginia Reef. Came back in and trolled along the Cape for Spanish and caught about 20 in an hour on mackerel trees. Kept six Spanish and one king. Will enjoy those tomorrow. Weather was beautiful, but hot. Extremely hot at the marina trying to clean the boat. Sorry no pics -- it was just me and my 10 year old son, no time for pics.

Glad you had a great trip. Just in case you were wondering, it was hot in Albany today too! Ha!

Glad you got into some fish. Too bad it was so hot. Funny how it seems to be this way every year about this time. Here is to Fall weather and that awesome Fall topwater bite.
