well my day started at 6:00AM like usual and hitin the water before sunrise. i also saw bakerties with TT after them poons again. while i was chaseing reds in the shallows.
although after one red i decided to join them in the hunt.

although i did jump two tarpon in the morning i didn;t think i would hook up with one but like crunch says be patient and u will get em so i kept that in the back of my head and just kept fishin. once i hit the submerged drop off/point. i see a tarpon role ang gulp some air at which point i layed that skitt around 15 feet in front of him and watched it in anticipation.click...clack...click...clack...WOOSH ZZZZZZZZ. "TT, ROB i got a tarpon!!!"i yelled.

8O i could tell they were a bit confused but once that monster leaped out off the water rob came right over and i couldnt help but yell the yells of happiness.

oh yea baby :!:

when the thing pulls me over to TT. he gives me some friendly advice. U know man u are goin to be fighting that thing for another hour or two! i just say aahh i can take him

but little did i know ,when he says an hour or two. HE MEANT IT! i was towed around a mile or two with a few close encounters tigh docks bouys and channel markers but all i had to do was turn sideways and PULL him to the side. now that sounds easy but i had him on my red rod set up with 40 lb fluro and 10 lb braid. it was a task to say the least. i could see the skitt in the upper jaw so i didnt think i had any abrasion on the leader only i had about a foot of it (i was red fishing when i pedaled out so that is all i was ready for)but two hours later and a heck of a sleigh ride. he came up along side and broke me off but i got a blurry pic before he did.
