Scallops

Post by reelcatch »

Looking at trying the scallop trip tomorrow down to Keaton Beach.

Any ideas as far as where to put in and where to go.

I keep reading that is where to get them and I have not heard of any in St Marks yet.

Any help would be appreciated.

Go to Dekle half way between bird rack and big house. We got more here than anywhere else last weekend.

Took the Boy Scout troop yesterday. Went to Dekle and found a few then went south and found a few. Mostly found boys splashing and carrying on. A good time was had by all.
Its a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

I keep my radio on the weather channel the whole time and a sharp ear and eye out. Lots of rain up and down the coast, but no thunder or lightning. If I had heard one boom, I would have made for the hill like a bandit with the popo on his butt.

Out of Keaton, go to bouy 4 or 5 and take a left for about 50 yds and start looking for a few gathered together from the boat. I had my best luck there.
