Does that statute in the opening post indicate that all they do if you refuse a breathalyzer is fine you $500?? No one in their right mind would ever blow given the risk of arrest if all you get is a $500 fine.

Careful, you may just be getting a $500.00 fine on top of a BUI. You can still be arrested even if you don't blow. It's just harder for you to be charged with BUI without a positive alcohol test. Best case scenario if you refuse to blow, you get a $500.00 fine for refusing to blow and pay a lawyer $5000.00 to keep the BUI from sticking (which is probably still cheaper in the long run than having a BUI).

Trust me, you'll come out of the situation better if you're just not drunk enough to have to worry about whether or you'll pass a breathalyzer.

did anybody see an increase in law enforcement over the weekend? FWC webpage indciated "operation dry water" was in place in again for the holiday and increased patrol would be deployed. I fished both Saturday and Sunday and was suprised not to have seen any law enforcement at ramps or on the water. I did alternatively get hawked by the ranger at the golf course on Monday. :smt005

they give you a cart and tell you to chase a ball around the hillside hitting it with goofy shaped clubs. How is a man to refrain from a couple libations :lick:
