Welby, been a couple of weeks since I last went out of Ecky but can say bait was definitely building up inshore compared to earlier summer trips and water clarity was pretty darn good for Ecky too... guessing it's even better now as we haven't had much rain lately.

Might want to talk with blackshear and redbelly and see if they'll share their secret 20 lb permit hole! :-D

TC and I fished out of Ecky last Sunday. We caught some nice trout, 3 over 20 and probably would have weighed a 12# stringer. We also caught 3 reds. Water clarity and floating grass vary greatly as you move a couple miles in any direction. We caught fish in both dirty and clear water but tried to avoid the areas with floating grass. Good luck
In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. And we will understand only what we are taught.

Sounds like a good forecast for this weekend. Showboat I met you at the Fenholloway lower ramp last winter. I was planning on going Sunday, just gotta find a partner now. I have been kinda busy lately and have only fished Econ a handful of times the last 4 months, mainly the Hatch. Hoping to get some cooler weather and will be hitting that area hard then. Any tips on the general areas where the most fish seemed to be Showboat? didnt know whether I should put in at Fin or Econ?

Went out of Econfina this morning. Caught some nice trout (up to 18") and 2 keeper reds (22 & 24). The trout bit well on the the pink/yellow Catch 2m and the reds came off white plastics on a 1/4 oz. jig. Got some nice strikes on a Super Spook, but only managed jacks. Fish bit best in 3-4 feet dirty water

Water was very clear where we fished. Look for the rock grass. Plent of floating grass. Just watch out for the hazardous rocks!

Hey Welby, any idea if you can pick up the GA/AK game out there tomorrow? I will be at Econfina in the morning as well but hate missing the game. Of course if I can limit out early, I can catch it on the way back to Leesburg.
