They rutt LATE in Gadsden County!

Post by rad07h »

Does anybody on here hunt in or around Gadsden County? Just got the game cameras up and working for bow season and have over 200 + pictures of deer... all DOES :taz I did get a lot of fawn photos. Given 200 days gestation that seems to put the rutt in february! From what I have heard from the guys at camp our rutt should be mid-late January. Seems kinda late in the season to me.

I've had a lease in Gretna for the last three years. We see most of our rut activity in the first two weeks of January with most coming around the three days before and after the first full moon. I've had my camera up for about two months now and have mostly gotten pics of small bucks and lots of does. Had some last week of a spotted fawn as well. Where in Gadsden County is your lease?

nice pics. What kind of camera are you using and how far away would you say it is from the subjects in these pics?

they are both Moultree d50 game cameras. These deer are probably 10 yards or less in front of the camera but it will take pictures of deer that are much farther off in the distance.
