Didn't make it out on Friday as originally planned due to what looked like iffy weather. :-? Saturday looked much better so wife and I headed out. :D Got on the water around 10am. With a South South East wind we headed due South from the tripod and stopped about 2 miles North of the platform. Started a drift which was rather fast with the wind blowing the way it was. I caught a 16" flounder on the very first cast using a CT with a natural shrimp grub and tipped with fishbites. Not much after that. Tried lots of colors. We were fishing deeper than we have in the past few weeks (7-9 ft). There were obviously some Mack's in the area from all the cut in half grubs we had, but never did get a hookup. Traveled east aprox 1/2 way between the platforms and started a drift. Bite was very slow. However the fish we did catch were really nice. Only caught 3 trout but 2 were well over 20 " and the smallest was over 19". :D First time I ever had the limit of over 20's early and then hunted smaller trout. :o Had one lady fish jump at the boat and throw the grub... caught another one on a spanish rig while trolling to the second spot. Caught one small salt water cat and one sail cat that gave us a pretty good rodeo. Fished with CT's, fished with jigs on the bottom, red and white spook, frozen shrimp under a CT trailed off the back. I guess the space guppy probably produced the most hits but it was a very slow bite for us and we came back in at 3:30.
"Good Judgement" comes from experience, ... and a lot of that..... results from "Bad Judgement".

SR, I bet that was you Saturday morning when I said "That looks just like Bud's boat." We fished due south of the river all day Saturday.
What was I supposed to do today?
