We had a good day of fishing out of Keaton last Friday, October 8th. It had been awhile being on dry land and we were looking forward to being on the water again. My wife and I met my brother at the lift and was soon on our way north towards Spring Warrior and Rock Island. The water was calm with cool air that was refreshing and we made good time to our first stop.
We found water dark, muddy and clear. The morning water temperature was 64 and rising to 72 that evening.
We had a good day but really worked for our catch. Some were found in about all deapts but between 5-7 feet seemed the best. The 15" trout were released, thinking we would fill our limit with larger ones. By two oclock we decided we may have made a mistake but come home with 14 good trout in the 16-18" range.
We threw everything in the tackle box from popping corks, jigs, soft baits and plugs. Caught a few with everything and any colors. We never found the Secret Weapon" that was red hot.
An enjoyable day and looking forward to being on the water again SOON!

Re: October 8th Report
T'anks for the report SS-342. Not a bad days' work.
To fish, or not to fish, . . . those are the answers.
