This was another "first" for me...Launched at the ramp at the end of lighthouse rd.... Nice ramp and parking area but I don't like the rocks around the ramp, makes it hard to anchor the boat while parking the truck. Anyway, got there before daybreak and was headed out the channel at first light when Will (Harmsway) called to make sure I made it OK and to tell me how to navigate the channel... while we were on the phone I spotted the oyster bars and figured that would be a good place to start casting, so I cut him short, hung up and started fishin'. 1st cast = a 19" trout... ( I was thinking: THIS IS GOING TO BE A GOOD DAY.... 3rd cast= 16" redfish.. then nothing after that, so I moved offshore into what looked like a great spot... then another spot, and another spot....
Final tally for the day...
probably 30 -40 trout that measured between 13 and 14 3/4" (I lost count)
1 short redfish
Too many pinfish and lizard fish to bother counting
1- 19" trout
and 6 man-eaters
It wasn't a very productive day for fishin', but a day on the water is better than any day sitting at home watching the boob tube.

and I learned a new area and saw some great sites.. Certainly worth the trip down.
